What Is Massage Therapy?
Massage Therapy is the assessment and manipulation of the body for the treatment of muscles, connective tissue, tendons, ligaments and joints. Massage therapy, using manual touch, helps alleviate soft tissue discomfort associated with everyday stress, muscular over-use and many chronic pain conditions.
What Massage Therapy Can Do For You?
Massage Therapy can increases muscle flexibility, improve circulation and decreases stress levels. Massage reduces and manages pain that arises from a variety of sources, such as trauma, post surgical swelling, headaches, fibromyalgia and arthritis. Since Massage Therapy can temporarily increase blood flow, appropriate Massage techniques can be beneficial for cardiac and hypertensive clients as well as for stress reduction. If utilized early enough after an accident involving Trauma or injury, massage therapy can also reduce the development of muscle and joint pain.
Massage can relax muscles, decrease spasms, improve muscle resting length and reduce trigger points, fibrosis and adhesions. In addition, our Registered Massage Therapists (RMT’s) can help relieve: inflammatory conditions such as arthritis and tendonitis, migraines, back pain, repetitive strain, circulatory and respiratory problems, pregnancy and labour discomfort and post surgery discomfort.
