Kinesio Taping is available at Berton Physiotherapy & Chiropractic. Kinesio Taping is the application of a highly elastic tape used to facilitate the body’s own natural healing process. This highly elastic tape exhibits its efficacy through the activation of the neurological and circulatory system.
Muscle contraction serves many purposes, such as the movement of joints, regulating body temperature, pumping venous and lymphatic fluids, etc. Therefore, the failure of the muscles to function properly induces various kinds of symptoms.
The Kinesio® Taping Method reduces pain and inflammation for various medical conditions. It’s a new approach to treating muscles, nerves, joints, pain and swelling.
When applied properly, Kinesio Tape® structurally lifts the skin. It helps promote the flow of body fluids, and reduces edema, inflammation, and pressure build-up under the skin. In addition, positive neurologic input is then given to your skin sensors, thus decreasing pain under the application area.
