Kinesio Taping and Kinesio Tape products are available at Berton Physiotherapy. Kinesio Taping is the application of a highly elastic tape used to facilitate the body’s own natural healing process. This highly elastic tape exhibits its efficacy through the activation of the neurological and circulatory system.
Muscle contraction serves many purposes, such as the movement of joints, regulating body temperature, pumping venous and lymphatic fluids, etc. Therefore, the failure of the muscles to function properly induces various kinds of symptoms.
Consequently, so much attention was given to the importance of muscle that the idea of treating the muscles in order to activate the body’s own healing process came about.
Using an elastic tape, it was discovered that muscles and other tissues could be helped by outside assistance. Employment of Kinesio taping creates a totally new approach to treating muscles, nerves, joints, pain and swelling.
When applied properly Kinesio Tape structurally lifts the skin promoting the flow of body fluids, reducing edema, inflammation and pressure build-up under the skin. In addition, positive neurologic input is then given to your skin sensors thus decreasing the pain under the application area.
Kinesio Taping is a therapeutic taping breakthrough that stands ahead of the rest. It is applied to assist muscles in movement, reduce pain, inflammation and swelling, relax overused tired muscles and support muscles on a 24 hour per day basis. Kinesio taping is used to treat everything from shoulder pain to foot problems and everything between.
